UMUSIC Experience and Ebony put together another Masterclass at USC featuring President of Motown Records Ethiopia Habtemariam, Motown Records singer-songwriter Sebastian Kole, and BJ The Chicago Kid. The topic was passion and purpose and how they found theirs in the music business, for a room full of aspiring music execs and artists. The key point they drove home was once the purpose is established, you have to hustle for the rest until you get to the goal. It gets uncomfortable and not everyone is nice, says Habtemariam as she speaks to the racism and sexism she’s dealt with in the industry. Her advice? “Don’t let anything stop you from achieving your goals.” We couldn’t agree more. Check out the rest of their inspiring insights here!
